In 2008, I went to Dr. Cohen for a root canal on a painfully infected tooth. I was in the middle of endnotes for a book I wrote, and the experience was so pleasant that I wrote, "Bless you, Dr. Howard M. Cohen, for the painless root canal (in two parts) during the compilation of my notes. You know how people say, 'At least it's not a root canal?' I now say, 'At least it's not endnotes.'"
I had a sensitive tooth with a crown, and I went to see him again today, remembering how kind and gentle he was then. He told it to me straight—a root canal might not solve my problem. And, though he and his lovely assistant spent more than 15 minutes each with me, the consultation was no charge.
I recommend him to everyone. The office is staffed with nice people, and he's just the best.
