Friendly staff! An amazing experience. Went just to look around and ended up staying hours to paint!
Love this place! Abby is wonderful, patient, and talented! The kids love her, and I love going there to zone out on a canvas. My work has improved exponentially since I've been painting with Abby. I've added an image of my latest work... Abby helped, in particular advising against the wings I wanted to add (and she's absolutely right). And bonus, she keeps wine glasses on hand, so bring your bottles!
The store's location, inside the store, the employees, and the entire experience was fun and memorable. I went there today to try their "Just Trying Pottery" deal for $25 per person. Along with a great introductory lesson from the instructor (totally blanked out on his name), the deal also included everything else needed to turn a clump of clay into a finished work of art. The store is located in Old Town Sykesville, but unfortunately the rain prevented any exploration of the area. Hopefully during one of the next two visits back to paint and pick-up the dried pottery, there will be an opportunity to walk around Old Town Sykesville. If I wasn't already so busy, I might actually sign up for more lessons.
One of the few places you get to actually make pottery. The staff were very helpful, patient and instructive. They made my daughter's birthday very enjoyable.
Went in for pottery lessons with Chris. Everything was great. Chris was a great instructor who took time to answer our questions, teach us some skills and techniques, and made sure that we had fun! The price for the whole thing was so cheap we're going to start going back on a regular basis. So much fun, and it's so close to home. Everyone in the area should check this place out!
I have been coming to Sykesville Pottery and Art for about 15 years with my children, my friends, and solo. I love the many opportunities for creative expression Very pleased with Sykesville Pottery Place! We go often & pick a large piece to paint and go back several times to work on our piece.
