(February 6, 2019, 5:31 pm)This is a great family friendly place to go for the 4th of July, as well as, other summer occasions. There is a $5 fee and parking is plentiful. When we arrived, there was a gentleman with the cutest little monkey that will take a dollar from your hand and then sit on your shoulder for a picture with you. There are food venders selling homemade barbecue and fresh-squeezed lemonade, craftsmen and their masterpieces to peruse, museum buildings and garden from an earlier era, different musicians to entertain throughout the day and picnic tables and grounds to enjoy. Bring your own chairs and blankets to sit in the shade of the trees, your own picnic food (if you would like) and a ball to play catch with family/friends and spend the day. Restrooms are located at the entrance. The 4th of July promises a spectacular display of fireworks! Bring your flashlight to see your way out.

(December 29, 2018, 6:42 pm)I was impressed with this museum! They have lots of interesting artifacts and a furnished 18th century farm house. Recorded narrations helps provide context for what you are looking at. We look forward to visiting in the summer when it is not cold and they have volunteers showing weaving, blacksmithing, etc.

(December 29, 2018, 11:14 am)Actually my visit here was work connected as a field trip. I work at a great little farm museum but this place is fantastic, plan on long visit with lots of walking. The entire thing has so much to see you could make it a all day affair. I found this a great day full of information, great recreational activities and the historic exhibition of the History is the best. It has a lot to offer every age

(August 6, 2018, 4:22 pm)Great place! Everything is well kept and clean. We took the tour with a guide. He tended to blather on, but he had some good information. He wasn't able to answer all my questions, though. The animals were great and their areas very clean.

(July 4, 2018, 9:43 pm)Best place in Carroll County for a visit. Peaceful outdoor museum space with multiple barn buildings housing exhibits. Real historic almshouse houses main museum attractions that change with the season. Strongly recommend visiting during the holidays to see the house decorated. Live animals, garden exhibit, children's playground, and walking paths through the forest keep you occupied. Best event must be the annual steam engine show in the fall, but the blacksmith days is also not to be missed. More fun than the local fair nowadays.
