(November 6, 2018, 6:42 pm)The Dorchester Visitor Center is rich with info displayed about the area, history and it's heritage. Despite the fact that it's an unfortunate history, the Center did a superb job of making the info available. The staff is friendly as well.

Overlooking the Choptank River, the Dorchester County Visitor Center is the perfect place to begin your byway adventure. Inside the center, an exhibit provides background information on Harriet Tubman and Underground Railroad activity in the area.

The Dorchester Visitor Center is undergoing improvements and needed maintenance, but will remain open to the public during construction. The elevated boardwalk leading to the main entrance of the visitor center is being completely replaced and the air-conditioning in the restroom building is being upgraded.
