(January 27, 2019, 7:32 pm)I am actually Alex’s mother but for some reason he’s logged into my account and it comes up as Alex. We have both been members for a very long time. Alex has been going since he was a kid at summer camp. Now he is 20 and still grinding there. Everyone is always helpful and very helpful. When I use the gym it’s usually on their slow times of the day. Very few people. This Sunday I went around lunchtime with my son and my 14 year old nephew. He was our guest. The parking lot was packed. The lobby was crowded with a group of guys from ages of 11-19 or 20. The lady behind the desk was trying to multi task the phone and crowd in lobby. While I am filling out the guest sheet for my nephew, I heard the lady asking for the guys to sign in. They tried to ignore her and go through the double doors. She asked again in a louder tone and the one guy says, ‘ oh he’s my guest’ lol She then instructs the guy to fill out a guest sheet. Meanwhile I watched 2 others sneak on in. I’m not sure if they are members but I doubt it. They all looked a little suspicious to me. Their behavior was very hyper and very loud. When the lady was discussing the guest pass, a couple guys were getting a little agitated and some even started cussing to each other. I was feeling a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable. When we go into the gym room to work out, almost all the machines were taken. That’s fine, but a lot were kids that looked under 13 and 3 of them were hanging on the leg press machine. Just playing around. Horse playing as I call it. Anyways, it’s was very nerve racking and disruptive to me. Most of the kids never cleaned off any machines. They had no idea what they were even doing other than playing. I was there for a hour and never seen anyone tend to these kids. It was out of control. I think they could use more staff supervising . The lady at the desk was swamped with people and calls. She needed help. That’s all I want to say. I’m sorry that my review seems like I’m complaining. Other than kids taking advantage of the situation, I love the YMCA
(May 31, 2018, 8:59 pm)I go everyday, I really like the employees. I wish they had more up to date machines. Only issue that can be had is some of the people and teenagers that go there can be a little much to put up with. But bring headphones do what you gotta do, get in and out and this place has all you need.
