    Small nature center with snakes and turtles. Located on the property of an old limestone quarry with some old lime kilns. Quarry is now a pond with a small bridge going around part of it. The nature center and Walkersville Community Park make a nice combo day trip in pleasant weather.

    Great little place to explore and take kids. A lot of unique animals. Nice and interactive staff

    Stop by the main building ... the ladies inside were friendly and offered up a lot of good info about the snakes, turtles, and everything else. They'll get something out of a cage if you want to touch an animal.

    Go outside for a hike and visit the nearby kilns or walk along the rim of the quarry. Plenty of trails to keep you busy. Nice outside kids playground too.

    Highly recommended. Plenty of parking. About 5 minutes from rt15 just north of Frederick.

    Love this place. Never crowded. Peaceful. Plenty of turtles. You can purchase food to feed the turtles. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. Wonderful nature center.
