“There are important things to know when shopping at Goodwill of Monocacy Valley. The policy is NO REFUNDS. Period. That is understandable if a consumer simply changes his/her mind. However, on two separate occasions, Goodwill associates inadvertently broke the items I was purchasing. On a third occasion, an associate neglected to put the item into the shopping bag. Each time, I had 100% legitimate cause to ask for my money to be returned to me. Each time, I was told I could "pick out something else" or "receive store credit." That is an absolutely ridiculous policy/procedure under those circumstances. Goodwill is a money making operation that generates A LOT of revenue. If I purchase an item, I expect to walk out of the store with it. I work hard for the money I earn. And STOP asking me if I want to "round up" in order to supplement the handsome compensation at the executive level. On the up side, the front line associates are VERY hardworking and very nice people.”

Long story short there was a mix up when we bought some candies and with two little kids that kept trying to run off my husband and I weren't paying as close attention as we could have been. When we later realized what happened we went back without much hope since we had no way to prove anything we were saying but the owner kindly listened and worked out a solution with us. We are so grateful. It's the least I could do to share their website and tell everyone about them. All I can say is it was wonderful to come across a business that is caring and honest. Plus their CANDY IS AWESOME! I give them a 10/5 stars and recommend everyone check out their website and/or the other events they will be visiting. “I don't know anything about the sermons here but about a week ago I was bike touring from Harrisburg PA and got caught in a thunderstorm. This was the nearest building at 8pm and while huddled under the overhang, a gentleman drove up in his car and let us inside to seek cover from the storm. He allowed us use of the bathrooms and water cooler. I am not a religious man but that is what I expect from a church. It was an amazing thing and I would like to thank this unnamed man.”
