Great place!!!! The park rangers were kind, very helpful and so knowledgeable. I went there looking to take some pictures of bald eagles and thanks to their directions I was able to find them. I can't wait to come back in the spring or summer!!!
As far a nature reserve it's pretty cool. Nice views and a good place to fish and see certain wildlife. If you like butterflies be sure to check out their butterfly garden when it's in season. It's the most amazing thing you'll see, thousands of butterflies flying all around you at once. Perfect for a date if you time it right. Also a great place for crabbing and fishing. If you like fishing and can't find a spot there are several here. Has hidden beach if you like collecting horseshoe crab shells or old fishing lures. Plenty of different trails to walk. Lots of beautiful sights. If your in Rock Hall or close by it's a definite to do for your visit. Not the best fishing place in the area but has it's own charm.
I took my drone out here to get some footage of the marsh and edges of the Bay. Such a beautiful place with REALLY great walking/hiking trails and a marsh viewing site/platform that puts you out in the middle of it all! Gorgeous!!!
Visited here on my Birthday and really enjoyed the visit!
This is a wildlife preserve, not a park meant for the convenience of people. Therefore there are very limited facilities. There are tiny parking areas scattered throughout, and The Visitor Center at the southern end where there is a gift shop, exhibits and restrooms.
Having said that however, it is a lovely place to take a walk and quietly admire nature and the surrounding scenery. It is not a place to have a picnic or take small children.
Eagles, opsrey, heron, blue birds and that was just the first 5 minutes! A good place for recreation too. A boat ramp but you need a pass to launch there but very worth it. You could easily spend the day and not see everything. It's very handicapped friendly too.
