“The food was delicious and worth the long wait. Unfortunately, the service was not attentive. The place is very "cozy", so expect to get to know your neighbors.”

“The dr and his assistant were both so empathetic, honest and helpful every step of the way. My dog began to act weird and we called first thing Monday and it became clear that it was beyond was we could do, and I got a second opinion from my veterinary friend from out of state. The Doctor and the assistant were both so empathetic to this sudden loss, and they made time in the day where no one would be in the clinic so I could say goodbye to my best friend. I appreciated all that they did to try to help him while we still could. The clinic is small, but was also very accommodating of our needs.”

“This is a very active and friendly Episcopal church. There are two services on Sundays - an 8 AM service without music that is about an hour long, and a 10:15 AM service that has an organist with a full choir. Holy communion is offered at all services. The 8 AM service is smaller in size and many older members attend. The 10:15 AM service is a family affair and has a Sunday School for children of all ages, and a nursery for infants and toddlers. During the last half of the service, the children join the adult members for the communion portion of the service. There is a wonderful coffee hour after each service, and you can find some really delicious ethnic treats at many of the coffee hours. The coffee hour also makes it easy to meet new people. Everyone is so friendly! Members of the church come from a wonderful mix of and ethnic backgrounds and the church is LGBTQ friendly (and has been for over two decades). Culturally, the membership consists of many groups including white, African American, Caribbean (Jamaica), South American, African (Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and others), and other areas. This church has so much going for it. The organist at this church, Elton King, is an incredibly gifted musician, and the choir he directs can sing traditional hymns, African American spirituals, and modern music. Members sing hymns from the traditional Episcopal hymnal and the Lift Every Voice and Sing hymnal. There are a number of things going on at the church during the week to support the local community, including a free medical clinic, a thrift store, AA and NA meetings, dance classes, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and a number of other activities. If you are looking for an accepting, active church, with members from all walks of life and awesome music, Transfiguration Episcopal Church is a great place to call home.”
