Both of our sons went to The Goddard School of Gaithersburg. Our oldest son just graduated from the Pre-k program. He started the school when he was 6 months old. Unfortunately, our work has caused us to move so our youngest was only there for a short time. Finding a daycare that provides a curriculum that is top notch was much more difficult than we imagined. We understand that we are biased when talking about our children but when others in our family or friends outside of the school comment on how advanced our children are we know that it's a large part due to the school's focus on education that we reinforce at home. Education is just one aspect of what we were looking for though. Our top priority was their safety, happiness, and if they were well taken care of. I can assure you that the owners (The Worleys) hire only the very best teachers at this school. We have loved every single teacher that our children have had and felt 100% comfortable knowing that they were safe, happy, and loved. We don't have any family nearby so finding someone we felt comfortable with was a hard undertaking. We have very high expectations when it comes to our kids - as most people do - and I highly recommend The Goddard School of Gaithersburg!
My daughter was here for 3 years before we relocated and she is now enrolled at another Goddard school in another state. We had a great experience with Goddard Gaithesburg and our daughter literally thrived. Their academic programs, their focus on learning and their love of kids shows in what they do. Their facility is the best I have seen (and I have tried / seen a few) and their teachers were consistently awesome. I highly recommend them.
I love that it is a play-based school. The director Ms. Kramer and her staff go above and beyond to make sure that the children are well taken care of and received the proper education for their age. The school's daily activities are very diverse and our daughter enjoyed them very much. She learned a lot there, reading, writing, singing, dancing, sharing and caring others. We were impressed by the level of open communication between parents and staff, and we really appreciate getting thoughtful feedback about how our daughter was doing each day, we were amazed she grew every day. The variety of learning opportunities they offer have been really helpful in supporting our daughter as she grow into Kindergarten-ready student, she's now a top student in the kindergarten in the elementary school.
I highly recommend this school and highly commend that you look beyond the modest facility that houses the school. We made a lot of friends through the school, we feel so lucky to be part of this warm and caring community, it really made a huge difference in our lives.
Academics were excellent; loved the enrichment programs (yoga, spanish, sign language); teachers were caring and patient. Plenty of creative time and play time too. Absolutely fabulous school It's hard to overemphasize how much better this school is than others in the area. I'd love to provide some sort of testimonial, we felt that strongly about it. If it went through 5th grade, our daughter would still be there!
I never typically write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our family's experience with finding a daycare for our son (now 2). After researching and visiting a lot of local daycare facilities, we realized that Goddard was well ahead of the other schools. For the first time, I felt less stressed about returning to work. Unfortunately, Goddard didn't have a spot when we needed it so we joined the wait list and enrolled in another program. That other program was good and we grew to really like it, but after 3 months we got a call to say a spot had opened up at Goddard. It was a difficult decision b/c our son was doing well in his current environment and we didn't know if transitioning him after 3 months was best. We took a 2nd tour of Goddard and knew immediately that Goddard was the best choice for us. I am so, so thankful we made that decision. The teachers at Goddard have been Fantastic and the entire staff is so supportive and friendly. Our son is thriving, in large part, because of the great curriculum that Goddard offers. Every day I get a really detailed report on his activities, and all of the teachers spend so much time communicating with me about his day. We feel really lucky that a program like this exists in our community.
