Norwood Local Park

A fantastic local park that boasts 4 standard swings, 3 "baby swings", 1 special needs swing, a tire swing, 7 slides, 5 unlit tennis courts, basketball courts, a field, a play house, impressive play structures, and a legitimate merry-go-round. I thought merry-go-rounds of this nature were outlawed in the 90s due to safety concerns. I understand the safety concerns. When I got the merry-go-round going FAST, my son (3yrs) fell off twice - once on his face, once on his back... he was fine. This is a great park, but supervised play is highly recommended.

It is a very beautiful and spacious park.
It has plenty of playground equipment and is suitable for playing with toddlers.
The only complaint I have is that there are not enough tables for easy meals.
But more than that, it is a nice place to spend time.

Very nice park with three partly shady playgrounds, lots of open grassy space, parking lots, five tennis courts, and a big scenic historic brick building that with a sign on it saying that you can rent it through the county. Playgrounds were busy with preschool kids during school year in the morning but emptied out at noon.

Great park in Chevy Chase. Playground has a good sized climbing frame with four slides. Separate area with the older equipment. Down the hill is a large soccer / baseball field. Basketball court, well paved walkways. It's an expansive area where you can find solitude or go for a run that involves gradients. Plenty of parking.

Big, open playground with lots of green space and trees. They are three separate playground areas and a tennnis court. All areas have several benches and even some picnic tables. There is a free parking lot on site. Only portable toilets available. Note: this playground seems to be a popular place for dogs.
