  Took my cat in Thursday 12/13 to check on why her ears and eyes were so gross, and bothering her (she's also 12) and met with Dr. Barnes. I was blown away by his pleasant manner, his care and attention to my beloved pet. He shook hands and introduced himself. During the exam, he advised me that my cat had feline herpes and prescribed drops and went over how to treat the long-term disease with over-the-counter lisiene. We also went over her overall health and behavior, he showed me how to clip her nails myself (with an able assistant) and then administered her yearly rabies shot. I was very pleased because her eye issue has been mis-diagnosed or glossed over by the rescue group and by another vet as an old "war injury" or "her eyes are just runny." Dr. Barnes also followed up the next day by calling me himself to make sure Sheba was doing ok.

  Leaving this place with our brand new 9 week old puppy felt like we just had a religious experience.
  
  We had taken our pup to another vet but were deeply troubled by their bedside manner. And I don't say that as some feel-good so-and-so, but they were rough with our dog and gave us so little information about the questions we had, and what info they did give, on training specifically, seemed terribly outdated.
  
  So we tried SSAH and met Dr. Krishna. And, wow. She's amazing. Stern with the owners, tells you exactly what you need to hear, explains everything she's going to do to your dog before she does it. Probably my favorite thing about her is that she makes it very clear, as an owner, what she expects from you in care-taking for you pup.
  
  Then she takes your dog's temperature rectally and your dog doesn't even notice...
  
  Downside, they're expensive. And not like a few bucks more than other vets. Like, premier pet care expensive. But honestly, you see them 4-5 times as a pup in the first year and a half, then get insurance and never pay out of pocket after for emergencies.
  
  You will love your time there.

  Been going here for 10+ years and I've always had a positive experience. Even after I moved 20 mins a way we always make the drive back. Good vets are worth holding on to.
