  I am bonafide scared of any pain. So when I was told by my dentist that I needed to see a periodontist, I put it off for two years. Needless to say, my gums got worse and I was forced to go for a scaling. THANK GOD I was referred to Dr. Packman. I cried when I made the appointment on the phone, I cried on my way in the car, and had a damn near breakdown in his office. However, his front office staff were excellent and very calming. I got to the back and broke down again with his dental hygienist Tina. This woman was like an angel. She listened and even wiped my tears with a tissue. I explained that I was deathly scared of any pain, even a paper cut. She talked to Dr. Packman and they agreed to numb me where I would not feel a thing. Although it took 10 minutes of hysterical crying before he could even numb me, I DIDNT FEEL A THING. NOT ONE THING during my entire scaling procedure. Before the scaling he gave me an oral rinse so I wouldnt feel the needle. It worked like a charm and although he stuck me at least 10 times if not more, I didnt feel the needle or one discomfort the entire time. The scaling procedure was also TOTALLY pain free. I couldnt feel anything and believe me, my gums are in really terrible condition. I even gave Dr. Packman a thumbs up half way thru to say I am doing great. This is a long post but if you are a nervous nilly, scared sara, or dramatic diane like myself Dr. Packman is where you need to go. Request Tina as the hygentist. She only works on Wednesday but you will thank me later!

  Dr. Packman and his staff are outstanding. Dr. Packman speaks with me in a way such that I understand the challenges that I am facing and the options before me. I do not feel pressured, but instead feel assisted.

  He did a great job. My tooth healed nicely.

  I highly recommended Dr. Packman to anyone in need of an outstanding periodontist. He is informative of all of procedures, making sure I was comfortable throughout my implant & gum graft surgeries. He even gave me a phone call to check in afterwards, which was very caring. Not only he has done 2 perfect dental surgeries on me, he is very calm & polite, and his humming makes these scary procedures therapeutic!
  All of his personnel are extremely nice & friendly. Especially Nurse Penny, who was very attentive, kept putting chap lipstick on me during the surgeries, to making sure my lip weren’t cracked post-surgery! I will miss my visit with Dr. Packman, as he really is the BEST I know!

  What a GREAT dentist! I have never had a dentist or doctor take care of me the way Dr. Packman did. I was referred to him by my primary dentist but decided that I was not getting the treatment which he recommended. I was already scheduled for a hip replacement surgery and wanted to focus only on that surgery. Several months after my initial visit to Dr. Packman, he wrote me a letter explaining the dangers of gum disease and how gum disease could affect new hip implant. I had never had a DR to write me and encourage me of needed treatment. So I decided to do the treatment. Doing the treatment, he was so gentle; he hummed a tune the whole time that he worked in my mouth and constantly asking me if I was “OK”. After the treat, his wonderful staff explained in detail how to care for my gums until they healed. Later that evening, Dr. Packman called me at home to see how I was doing!!! Unbelievable! Dr. Packman is the BEST doctor, dentist, medical person that I have ever encountered.
