Not much to it. Just a frame for a large hut and a couple of signs. Not sure where that photo came from since there is no structure like it at the site. However, the village is part of a beautiful park offering a scenic drive, boat access to the Patuxent, lots of trails for 2- and 4-legged hikers and other amenities.
Lots of horse trails lots of walking trails and the history of it is great I didn't know and that it used to be and Airfield for black people who weren't allowed at the Airfield in DC back in the day there are plaques that tell the story and have pictures
Relaxing, no one there except me and God creations.
Interesting place, good for kids to explore and learn about past cultures. Easily accessible by car and close to Merkel Wildlife Sanctuary (connected to the park by an easy hiking trail). A little more signage detailing everyday life in a village like this would be nice, but still a great experience.
