“If you haven’t been to Glut, you haven’t been to Mount Rainier, it’s the beating heart of this little town just along the District border. Great music, it’s a worker owned co-op so no membership required. Though it’s health food store in an expensive part of the country they price many items low, I get pasta, cheese and ice cream cheaper there often than I do at larger chain health food stores. They have folks to help you figure out herbs and supplements that might help what ails you. Fresh organic produce, herbs and bulk grains, nuts and granola, toiletries and natural black skin and hair products. Check it out for the novelty, keep coming back for joy,convenience and community.”

In this area, a lot of liquor stores have bulletproof glass with people working behind them with bad attitudes and bad customer service . The first time I walked in and saw the layout, as well as the lack of bulletproof glass like others have, I was a fan. The employees are an added bonus. The design and staff makes this a liquor store that treats (black) people like people. Tip- this location does tastings on weekends . You can also sign up for their texts and get special deals.”

Now when he gets double takes for wearing his band, I must assume it is because it looks sweet! I wanted to design something myself so Scott talked me through the process and provided me with all the materials I needed. I also found out that he does wrap designs himself and I was able to see some past work which look fantastic.
