(November 27, 2018, 7:29 am)Wonderful little historic inn located in Oxford, MD. Great views of the Tred Avon River. Rooms were very comfortable but quite funky. This inn was built in 1710, so don't expect modern comfort and construction. Floors were uneven. The bathroom a converted closet. But, that is what gives it its charm. It is not cookie cutter. And, the food is amazing. The breakfasts are included and there is a wide variety. The dinners are wonderful as well (in fact,we ended up eating there twice). There was a guitarist playing the next night to add to the atmosphere. Simply everything about the place was enjoyable and relaxing. If you are looking or a place to go to get away from the rush, I highly recommend coming here.

(November 25, 2018, 5:06 pm)We just spent two delightful nights in the Inn, including the full-on Thanksgiving Feast. For us it was perfect, could not have been better. We spent one night in the Inn and one in a "cottage", both delightful. There is great charm in the age and history and location. The host, Ian Fleming (really!), and his wife are warm and personable and create an easy, comfortable ambience. But the giant surprise was the quality of the food. The chef, Mark Salter, knows what he doing for "fresh ingredients," wonderful spicing, and forms and presentations that went way superior to "traditional" while nonetheless being traditional (yes we both succumbed to the turkey-dressing-cranberry etc. choice - but were not sorry). This visit provided us exactly what we needed - out of the pressures of jobs-media-obligations and into a cosseted time and space from the past. The only negative is the effort it will require to take off the new weight.

(November 8, 2018, 1:40 pm)We just finished a delicious lunch at the Robert Morris Inn. The Maryland Cream of crab soup, oyster pot pies and roasted fall vegetables were wonderful! Our waiter Luke was delightful and very knowledgeable! This is a must if you find yourself in the area!

(September 15, 2018, 10:36 pm)What a charming inn! It definitely feels like going back in time. No TVs or phones in the rooms - worked for us because we were trying to escape the daily insanity. The staff were very helpful and friendly; breakfast is included at the restaurant and was delicious. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.
