(August 2, 2018, 12:13 pm)Nice free parking area with access to the Appalacian trail. Find the trail at the back of the parking lot and turn left to head up the mountain toward Weaverton Cliffs, or turn right to head under 340 toward the C&O Canal towpath and the Potomac River.
(July 29, 2018, 8:15 am)Great, safe place to park. Walk south in the lot to find the trail (or east on the road). The hike up to the cliffs can take about 45 minutes, depending on your speed. Go on a weekday if you'd like a little more solitude.
