There are so many ministries that reach out to help our community: Hope Rising, the South Carroll Food Pantry, Feed My Sheep, EYLC, and so many more. It definitely starts with strong leadership. Rev. Pastor Jenny is a treasure. She fights to make sure we all feel heard and seen. She is extremely intelligent and supportive of our success in doing good things in the community. I had a stroke last year, and she came to my house to check on me. During the pandemic and while so much was going on at the church, she took the time to personally check on me. I will never forget that! Pastor Ian is amazing intellectual who brings that energy to every sermon. Dan Eschliman, the Worship Director, is truly gifted in so many ways. Wesley Freedom UMC is a place where you can feel safe, share your divine gifts, and make lifelong friends. It's a place you can find spiritual guidance and support when life knocks you down. This will always be a special place in my heart; I really hope you come and give it a visit. Maybe I'll see you there!”

“There is a lot of love there. A family church truly. There is a noticeable move of the Holy Spirit. You are told the word without any sugar coating. Take it or leave it. The price paid for your soul is not to be played with. The ladies take their time to dress well before coming to church knowing that they bring their best to the house of God. There is a lot of celebrations and thanksgiving going on. The church is predominantly African but any race is welcomed. Visitors are given a warm welcome and concerted effort is made to check up on you. They are not perfect by any means. We are all a work in progress. The resident Pastor and his wife are the humble ministers of the church, trying in their own ways to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the members.”
