“I had a most surprising and gratifying experience with store manager Howard yesterday. I had purchased a somewhat expensive health item from this store last March in 2018 which stopped functioning, and I no longer had a receipt from the purchase, but I did find a Mastercard receipt reflecting the purchase. Hoping the store might be able to use the Mastercard info to locate proof of purchase from last March, I went to the store and talked to Howard to ask if it would be possible for them to retrieve information to prove my purchase. (I did not expect him to be able to find that old information, but I thought it was worth asking anyway.) Not only did he retrieve the proof of purchase but he then offered to take back the defective item and replace it with an improved product made by the same manufacturer! What a dynamic gesture by a store manager to serve a customer in such a way as was not required of him and beyond any expectation that I would ever have had! I had just hoped that having the proof of purchase would give me leverage in negotiating with the manufacturer! Thank you, Howard! You are one in a million!”
