“Incredible place. Breathtaking views of migratory birds, helpful educational displays, and impressive programs like bus tours of the refuge and talks given by experts. The gift shop is well stocked with books, bird watching supplies, and a really awesome collection of enamel pins of different birds you see there. The Bald Eagle festival last year was unforgettable.”

“We could not have had a more perfect weekend! The scenery is magical with water or fields wherever you look. The house is old and full of history but the rooms are clean and well appointed. There is plenty of room for a large group but also cozy nooks. The living room has a stately, well stocked fireplace that makes it hard to go to bed. The owner could not have been more flexible and accommodating . We can’t wait for our next trip to Martin’s Point!”

“Great people! They have plenty of activities to keep you occupied during the tours. Plus the strategically placed pinwheels keep you memorized! My only complaint is that when he starts the motor you only hear bubbling and it only has 6 cylinders (is that even a real motor?)”

“Overall, and looking at how the material presented is designed to portray a very specific story in a specific way, I think it does accomplish its goals. As a historian of the building arts myself, I found that it feels too detached from history and place and time because everything is presented in a sort of postmodern, evocative, very stylized fashion. Quite differently from how anything described would have actually looked or been set. It would be too harsh to say that they've given a Disney-fied version Harriet Tubman's life and work. But considering how it has been so thoroughly processed and repackaged for ease of consumption, the analogy is not inapt.”

“Wow. What a fun experience. My husband and I normally avoid tours at all costs but this was absolutely wonderful. Captain Iris was anything but a cheesy tour host; down to earth, knowledgeable, fun to hang out with. We lucked out and landed ourselves a private tour, got to help raise the sail, drink some fantastic adult beverages and see the gems of the night sky. The sailboat was beautiful and has left us wanting one of our own. Such a perfect experience I would highly recommend!!”

“Could not have had a better day today with our family celebrating my 7 year olds birthday! The whole experience from booking to flying with our pilot AJ was extraordinary. Very friendly, great with kids, extremely clean, informative and fun. I could not recommend more! AJ was very easy going, and great with involving my daughter in her flight. She “helped” him take off which made her feel very special and even took her requests to go through a cloud. He took extra effort flying over our house several times so my daughter could see it and we greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for a fabulous day.”

“I have wanted to fly in a biplane since I was about 8. My dear wife gave me a flight as a Birthday present and my son chauffeured me to the airport in the 1926 Dodge his Grandfather restored in 1968. Could there be any better Birthday? The flight was everything I had been dreaming about for all these years. I recommend it highly and will be back for a repeat trip in the fall.”

“The volunteers and rangers are very nice and committed to providing the visitors with an excellent experience. The boat rides are free and the interpretation of the lives of the people that lived on the canal is very informative. Great place to visit to wet your toes in quite a bit of history.”
