“Currently, the canal through the Four Locks cultural landscape is not watered and the locks, bypass flumes, boat basin, dry-dock and wasteweir no longer function as they did historically. The culverts remain in operation, although Culvert 140 (Mile 109.90) does not carry modern vehicular traffic. However, all the constructed water features remain in their original locations. The locks no longer have their wooden gates and or other wood components, but there is iron hardware, mostly located on top of the end coping stones, on many of them.
