“I'm Debra Torto-DiScipio and I'm writing in response to Deborah DiScipio's (ex-sister-in-law) poor review of Care One at Essex Park. I'm the Health Care Proxy for both my in-laws who are residents at Care One at Essex Park. I have been extremely pleased with the care they're getting. The memory unit staff are very attentive to my in-laws needs. When my mother-in-law banged her eye on the bedside table the staff called me immediately and let me know and they had her seen by the medical staff immediately. I think it looked worse than it was. Realistically, the staff can't be expected to have eyes on all residents every minute of the day. My family members obviously have very little knowledge or understanding of what these memory unit facilities deal with daily. Caring for 52 residents simultaneously may yield odors on occasion but overall the housekeeping. nursing and support staff do a very good job. After visiting 18 facilities, and getting recommendations from friends for Care One, we placed our in-laws at Care One at Essex Park and are very pleased with our decision.”

Kathy is my therapist and she knows the right balance of how to challenge me to exceed and when it's time to say stop! 4 weeks after total knee replacement, I am walking without a crutch or a cane, my range of motion is at 107. My knee is pretty much pain free. Tim is also very supportive and caring. This is one of the best PT environments around, if you have the chance to do your therapy here I highly recommend it. The schedules are pretty easy to work with. If you are having joint replacement, make a visit there to work with Kathy on pre op exercises to strengthen the muscles, it has made a big difference in my regaining my strength and range of motion.”
