Before I heard about the amazing results that Dr Chuck Deveikas had done for other people I went to a Hand Specialist`.When I told him that I had waited a year because I thought that I must becoming crippled like my mother. But the pain and that I could no longer use a fork or knife to eat pushed me to look for help. He asked me which finger was locking up. I said “all ten”. He said’I have never heard of such a thing”.” I’m going to send you to a Hand and Arm Therapist, Dr Chuck. If anyone can help you he can.”

The minute I opened the office door, Donna made me feel at home and let me know that help was on the way. She introduced me to Dr Chuck. He said,”come on in, wash your hands, keep your mask on and let’s see what we can do for you.”

First visit he quietly and softly rubbed every ounce from my finger tips up to my elbows while telling me softly but factually what was causing all the problems. “Everything inside my lower arms are really tight so they need to get loose again as needed. AND we can work together to fix them.”

At first i went twice a week , then once a week, then once every two weeks. Each visit he measured my strength and tightness. He massaged all the tight spots which were from my fingers to my elbows at first. He never once hurt me. After every visit I felt physically and mentally relaxed and hopeful.
He gave me various tools as I Progressed: two different sponge tightnesses, adjustable hand squeezies ,2 2 lb weights and a colored printout of seven exercises. Also i can get online to do the exercises.
Last week was my last visit unless I need help again.
Dr Chuck, Donna and I said ‘farewell” I have to admit that i will miss the relaxing hands/arms/fingers massages and our warm friendship…. WHAT AN ENJOYABLE FEW WEEKS WITH TWO GOOD PEOPLE!!!
I am 77 years old. If Dr Chuck can help me, he certainly can take care of any one. I can open jars, shoot hoop's ,use my iPad half the night, etc.

Chuck is amazing, and helped me recover very quickly from my hand surgery. Although the location was out of my way, it was worth the time to get some of Chuck's magical care. Thank you Chuck!

This review of the wonderful care I received from Upper Hand Therapy is more than LONG OVERDUE.
I began rehabbing a trigger finger with Chuck and Donna at the beginning of Covid. It was a dark time- my dominant thumb joint was frozen, no bend- I couldn’t work, I’m a ceramicist and confusing and disturbing information of this virus was unfolding daily.
From the outset Chuck said that it would take time (ligaments are slow to heal) and there will be indicators of progress along the way that will inform us of how far the therapy can go- given my extremis.
Chuck’s kind, therapeutic presence and his skilled, gifted hands (at this point masked and gloved) was medicine in itself. I diligently worked the home exercise program and slowly my poor thumb began to move a little. This is not glamorous work- small releases, small increases in range of motion and strength. Though I was thrilled and grateful for the progress I would express my doubt about recovery. Chuck would take my thumb in his therapeutically magical hands and go into the “proprioceptive zone” to sense where my ligaments were at, and how far they could go. And then he’d begin to treat...
I had scheduled an appointment with a hand surgeon just around the time I began therapy at Upper Hand. Thanks to covid, I didn’t get an appointment with the surgeon until early spring. He said for certain OT would not be able to correct this. He didn’t have a date available for surgery until the early summer- so I booked it- just in case.
Meanwhile I got to keep working with Chuck because Donna was doing her insurance magic at the front desk! Suffice to say, when Chuck discharged me and my moving bending thumb, it was a lot fun to call the surgeon and cancel the surgery.
I’m back to work at the studio and I am incredibly grateful and beholden to Upper Hand Therapy.
I hope this review helps in your decision to choose Upper Hand Therapy.

They are absolutely the best! They got us in right away and worked with my 10 year old son for his custom brace. The whole team is amazing!

Charles J. Deveikas is a fantastic hand therapist. Chuck provided an effective treatment for my hands' problem. In addition, he promotes hand health literacy through fun instructions during the visit and a user-friendly after-visit summary containing pictures and easy-to-follow text. I am thankful to Chuck for his incredible expertise, impeccable organization, and unparalleled dedication to patients. I am so fortunate to receive excellent care at the `Upper Hand Therapy and Training` practice. It is among my top 3 favorite healthcare facilities!
