We were looking for a pre-school option for our 4 year old to better prepare him for Kindergarten next year. Our oldest went thru public school Kindergarten and is now in 1st grade public school. We weren't sure about Montessori philosophy going in but Keystone provided a number of 'parent teaching' workshops (that included free daycare while we attended). We learned that they don't teach to the 'average' but set the learning pace individually for each child and by having a classroom span multiple ages, we are seeing our 4 year old being exposed to math & language skills that he would not get exposed to until Kindergarten at a traditional pre-school. After understanding Montessori better, we signed our 4 year old to stay next year for Kindergarten and are pulling our oldest out of 1st grade public to finish his elementary school at KMS! Just like the Pre-school - Kindergarten (Children's House) classroom the Elementary classroom spans ages allowing the child to grow at their own pace, being in a class with 1st - 3rd graders (and even the older ones in upper elementary from time to time) will allow our 1st grader to not 'get bored' on a subject like Math or Reading if he is able to excel (or master a concept) and start consuming what would traditionally be 2nd grade material when he is ready and not wait until 'next year'... As a parent, I wish we had understood what we know now about American Montessori School philosophy when our oldest was 2 years old! There is a lot of science/research behind the how our brains are wired that we are seeing first hand in the short time we have been enrolled in KMS. Don't wait until they are ready for pre-school to look at KMS, but know that it isn't too late like we did to start your child on the love of learning path!

My son goes to their children's house (3-6 year old) program and we really love this school.Teachers are great and very organized. They understand each kid's capabilities and completely focus on their development. My son is a great reader and tries to write short stories. He is good at science, math etc and these days he can't stop talking about solar system. He totally loves his school. Other staff are very friendly and attend any requests immediately. They offer health and wellness program which includes skiing, swimming, yoga, tennis etc for kindergartners and elementary kids. My son enjoys learning all these activities with his friends. We have been with this school for two years and so far didn't find any issues. We decided to continue him in their elementary program as it has great reviews

Outstanding teachers, nurturing learning environment and caring staff are the hallmarks of Keystone Montessori school. Our 4-yr daughter thrives at the school, she can already write and is learning to read at rate that is astounding to us. There was a huge difference in her interest, focus and performance once we moved her to Keystone. I recently attended a Parent day to observe my daughter in the classroom and I was most impressed with the multisensory math materials, which wer carefully laid out from simple to complex, offering a concrete representation of abstract mathematical concepts such as simple operations, area, volume, and measurement including the decimal system - for my 4-yr old! :-)

I really feel fortunate and confident that my daughter is getting an outstanding early education and head-start in academic learning. I would recommend any parent wanting their child to learn in an nurturing environment that places an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for their child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development to give Keystone a try, as it's one of, if not the best Montessori school in the greater-Boston area.

Spent an evening enjoying a thoughtful demonstration by an awesome team of Montessori practitioners.
The story format with visuals made it an interesting, fun and an unforgettable experience, can't think of a better way to explain an important science lesson.
Lots of scientific facts and terms webbed together in a comprehensive presentation, without overwhelming in anyway.
Exposure to basic and essential knowledge in a clear format that nudges the inquisitive mind to explore the depths and learn.
Totally impressed by the diligence and care, obvious in the cosmic-ed demonstration at KMS. If I could only enroll myself for the same!

My 3 yo is currently enjoying her first year at Keystone Montessori and I cannot say enough good things about the experience.

The teachers are all very invested and engaged in their work - the children really respond to their enthusiasm. The school provides a large variety of experiences for the children - academic, cultural, social, physical - it is very well rounded.

My daughter gets such loving attention from everyone at school - it really has become her "second" family. The teachers and staff patiently and kindly guided my daughter through the trials of potty training and tantrums as well as through the joys of her first written word and her first songs.
In addition to a warm and welcoming environment, Keystone is also providing a first class Montessori education to my daughter. She learned so much exploring the "works" - she now brings the intense concentration that she's applied to her school activities to her explorations at home. It's such a joy seeing her apply the "one-until-your're-done" and "everything has it's place" rules to her home environment.
I don't regret for a second paying a bit more than we would for daycare - the learning environment at Keystone is worlds away from anything she could experience at a day care center. We definitely plan to have her continue her elementary education here.
