Hazel has been my one and only hairstylist since 2012. I think many women recognize the importance of finding "the one" who truly understands your hair and its quirks, and Hazel does just that. After years of frustrating experiences with other salons/stylists who couldn't get my bob right, I decided to book an appointment at Sassoon, where I was fortunate enough to end up in Hazel's chair. I've never looked back.

My hair is very thick and wavy, so it takes a lot of time and effort to tame the beast. Hazel's precision cutting and attention to detail results in the perfect bob every single time. Thanks to her master skills, my hair grows out beautifully between cuts and I constantly receive compliments from strangers on my sleek bob. I was thrilled when she opened her independent studio because not only is Hazel the BEST hairdresser I've ever had and will ever have, but she's also a wonderful and caring person. I will follow her anywhere she goes!

I have curly hair and hardly ever get my hair cut because that's easier than dealing with a bad cut. I also always either straighten it or put it up because I just never really like my curly hair. I made an appointment with Hazel (Nicky) and told her she was in charge. She gave me the BEST cut of my life. I am thrilled with the results AND I haven't straightened it since because I love it so much!!!! Thank you so much! I definately reccomend Hazel's Hair Studio!!!!!!!

Hi, my name is Sheryl. Hazel is my daughter and while you might think I am predisposed to give a good review strictly for that reason there is much more!
I grew up with thick semi curly hair, which when I was younger I wore long and pulled back . As I hit my thirties, l cut my hair and attempted to be stylish! Many bad cuts, big hair in the nineties was not a good look and finding a permanent stylist just never happened.
In the mean time, l got a job as a letter carrier (wearing a cap daily) and my daughter went to the Sassoon Academy to become a stylist.
    She transformed me !!
Nicky (Hazel) figured out that a bob would work well for me. It was very easy for work but also styled up nicely for special occasions! I now work inside as a clerk serving the public and need to look stylish on a daily basis.
    So not me!
I need fast and easy, my bob allows both! Blow drying and the products she chose for me tames my hair enough to look great with little effort. And if I have a special occasion to prepare for l can straighten it for a whole new look!
Now we chat about upcoming events or seasons and decide what look l want for the next month or two. Sometimes we can do haircuts on the regular but sometimes due to scheduling conflicts, it will be 3 months (or more!) in between cuts. But the shape grows out so nicely that it still looks great, just on the long side.
Nicky has a great sense of style. She really listens to what her clients want in a cut and considers the amount of effort they are willing to put into daily styling. She gives practical advice on products and styling techniques to make us all look our best!

Well... I really hope this girl never retires, because I'll be banging on her door when she's 90, begging her to at least give me a trim! After going to the same salon in Dedham for seven years, and growing tired of making the journey from Boston whenever I needed a cut, I decided to seek out an expert in Boston. I did a little bit of googling and ran across someone in the financial district who had incredible reviews online and was allegedly a "master" at his craft. Long story made very short, he ruined my very healthy, waist-length, perfectly blonde hair. Within weeks, about 50% of my hair had broken off. I decided that no matter how much money it took, I would get my healthy hair back, so I called a large downtown salon whose stylists had impeccable training and reputation.
    Enter Hazel.
This girl is not a hairstylist. She's a bit of a prodigy. She's an artist who has a distinct eye for shape, angles, and shading, a physicist who can predict movement and volume before making a cut, and a scientist who understands more about structure, growth, and chemistry than most phd's I know.
Where most stylists would have simply cut off my damaged hair and sent me on my way, she studied my hair for about 15 minutes, asked me a million questions, and then made strategic cuts so that my hair had a style that I could actually love. And for the first time in my entire life, I loved having short hair (I do NOT have the face for it). Then she gave me some very strict rules for the coming months- how to brush, how to style, what to use and what not to use, and gave me drugstore options if I couldn't afford the salon products.
I'm thanking my lucky stars that she decided to break off on her own so that I can now afford to see her as much as I want. It feels a bit like I've won the lottery. I'll never be able to thank her enough for saving my hair and teaching me so much!
