I searched quite a bit for private lessons for my daughter and I am glad I found The Piano Studio of Winchester. Sara has been learning from R J for over three years now and there has been a dramatic improvement in her piano playing. The emphasis here is on the right technique and making making the student capable of understanding and playing great music, not on running after levels and stage performances. This is the best place to get private music lessons in the area without a doubt. My second daughter can't wait to turn 5 and start the lessons too. Highly recommended!
R.J. Carroll in his Piano Studio teaches both kids and adults to play the piano. R.J. is my son's second piano teacher for two years now and is an excellent piano teacher, who cares not only about technique, but also emphasizes to have fun with the piano pieces. R.J. is patient with the students and the fact that parents can sit with their child during the lesson is a great way to stimulate the students to play/practice (you might even catch a great rag time tune every now and then!)
I would definitely recommend him as a piano teacher; also our daughter just recently started to learn and play the piano with R.J. Carroll
RJ is a great piano teacher! My 10 year old loves his piano lessons every week. He usually loses interest in activities pretty fast, but RJ has a special gift for engaging him with music that appeals to him.
