  I walked out of my first BTC class 15 years ago thinking, “Huh, I feel different.” I stayed to find out why and the feeling has kept getting better and better. Everyone I know here has stories of maladies that have improved. I got past lower back disk injuries that had plagued me for seven years and grew two inches to boot as my spine decompressed. But even that is not what I feel most grateful for.
  
  Tai chi and chi gung have given me a consistently reliable toolbox of techniques that I can apply to any difficulty that comes my way, physical or otherwise. The teachers are all generous with their time and perceptions, and they do always seem to have perceptions about what I can practice and how I can move to help whatever may be hurting. The class atmosphere is sociable and people are very community-oriented, if you want that, but respectful of your privacy as well.
  
  BTC is a low key, low pressure, grow at your own pace kind of place that manages to make accessible these very sophisticated, very ancient practices. I’m lucky to have found it.

  I used to be a hard core martial arts student. I loved studying Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Eventually, injuries forced me to quit those arts and look for something that might help me heal.
  
  I'd always heard that Tai Chi was supposed to be good for your health and so I gave it a try. Over the years it's done exactly what it is advertised to do, it's improved my overall health.
  
  Injuries to my knees and hips have slowly healed. My back doesn't hurt as much as it used to. My sleeping has improved. I feel less tired and I have more energy throughout the day.
  
  It's been a really cool process to watch as bit by bit I get healthier and stronger. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you are interested!
