  5 stars for food 3 stars for service. I love this place. I've been getting my desserts for a few years and the sandwiches (weekdays only) are amazing. I even bought my wedding cake here. I often buy a few pounds of mixed Italian cookies, always including the more expensive almondy ones and the cheaper butter cookies- to bring as gifts. They're always appreciated. I'm hoping my one-time, bad experience was just a one time thing.
  
  This week, I had the most frustrating and super annoying exchange with the counter person. I wanted to buy a medium sized box of all the varieties of Italian cookies, as I've done previously many times.The counter person refused because "they are different prices" and "only sold by weight". Even though every other time, it hasn't been problem, I finally acquiesced because she was clearly not interested in my needs and I was in a rush.
  
  Instead, I asked her to fill up about one small box with the $11 cookies and to fill up another small box with the $8. She kept insisting that I specify the weight of the cookies before she would fill them! I explained to her multiple times that I was bringing these as a gift and just wanted the boxes to be full. I'd pay whatever they weighed, but she just kept insisting that I tell her the weight of the cookies I wanted to buy! We went back and forth and it was super irritating. They have a scale for a reason!
  
  In the end, I had to waste a bunch of time dealing with that girl, and trying to tie the two stupid boxes of cookies together with a ribbon so it looked halfway decent. she didn't even fill up the boxes. I ended up bringing two, 2/3-full small boxes of cookies. I'm embarrassed that I brought a gift that made me look like a cheapo but I didn't have time to go anywhere else, and there was no way I was going back in to deal with that girl again. Normally the service there is pleasant so I'm hoping that this was just a one-time bad experience.

  So much more than pastries!! Really yummy breakfast sandwiches too, also learned the other day they offer a full lunch menu. Highly recommend.

  Great pastries and bread! The cakes - especially the strawberry shortcake - are fantastic. The prices are reasonable too. The coffee is only okay, but hey, the pastries more than make up for it. Worth a stop for sweets if you’re nearby.

  Got a cake for my boyfriend's birthday, and it was more than I could have asked for! The cake was absolutely beautiful and they wrote the birthday message on a beautiful ribbon across the top of the cake. On top of that, it was absolutely delicious! I would recommend the strawberry shortcake to anyone who wants a different type of cake for their loved ones! Will be going here for cakes from now on!
