“Mom just celebrated her first year in residence at Whitney Place in Sharon. The facility and staff have exceeded our very high expectations. Jorge Cortizo and his management team have been proactive with staffing and in my opinion seamlessly staying ahead of the challenges that increasing occupancy in a new facility has to bring. Ester guards the entrance with purpose and always seems to be there to greet me with a smile. As assisted living facilitators, Mathew and Katherine do a wonderful job providing interesting and stimulating recreational opportunities. The nursing staff, primarily Moe and Debbie, is always alert to the health issues that arise with a 96 year old. That really helped keep them short. The kitchen and dining room staff is welcoming and helpful. Bill, Gemena and Alex have been great to deal with. Personal care, housekeeping and facility maintenance have been outstanding. Mom is always clean and neatly dressed ; her apartment spotless and orderly; and her laundry is done and returned in a timely fashion. Glen is always there to fix this and hang that faster than you'd think and always with a smile. Everyone does their job, but the hardest one has to that of personal care assistants. Melody's multitasking is nothing short of artful. Imelda, Sandy, Heidi, Autumn, Maciayah, Jade, Chaunny, Kaitlyn, Karley, Shazea, Nancy, Cynthia Tatianna, Kenisha, Karenine, Veronique, Zunilda and Alyssa all have been great. I've mentioned many names and I apologize to anyone that I have inadvertently omitted. My fault not theirs. Every person that we have had to deal with in the last year, almost without exception, have been outstanding. They all deserve well earned thankyous, pats on the back and recognition. By the way, I am not easy to please. Just ask my wife.”

“Wards Berry Farm is a cute local farm in Sharon, right off of 95. Open year round, Wards Berry keeps sheep, goats, chickens and 2 ponies cared for by the 4H Club for the public to visit. This can be a very fun day trip for families or couples looking for something different to enjoy. Wards also has a market that sells fresh and organic plants, fruits and vegetables that vary with the season. Wards Berry is also a great stop for a breakfast sandwich and fairtrade coffee or a lunch plate and soda to go. On a hot summer day they are perfect for ice cream and milkshakes. Wards Berry farm is a great local farm and anyone in the area should stop by once in a while for a visit.”

Linda went above and beyond at EVERY turn -- from the initial marketing of the house, to the pricing of the house... to "talking me in off the ledge" a couple of times, to making sure everything was as it said it was, to making sure things were up to code. There is not a single detail that was too small to gain Linda's attention, and she executed on those details with absolute precision. Things started to get a bit weird around the closing -- Linda handled it with expert competence [me? not so much]. “Jan is a great ballroom and latin teacher. He will get you through new figures in all the dances on a 2 week rotation. No wasted time, gets right to it. Good sense of humor too so we always have fun! Beginners classes Mon and intermediate to advanced on Tuesday. Very reasonable rates for the group classes. Small class size so you get a lot of personal attention. Highly recommend for those just starting, or intermediate dancers wanting to expand their repertoire. Private lessons also but we haven’t taken any because we are only interested in social dancing, not competition. I am sure they are great also.”
