  It was a pleasure working with John. His very patient and engaged demeanor quickly set us at ease as understandably nervous first time home buyers. John came highly recommended to us from another inspector who had been used by friends twice. He was on time and responsive for our inspection. He was patient, diligent, and detail oriented to the extent that he would "geek out" about small details that he appreciated about the house's build, such as the electrician properly removing a knob on the sub electrical switch box.
  
  His report was provided to us promptly the next day, and he expressed a willingness to work with the competing schedules of all parties involved. We had an initial conflict doing the radon test and he moved his schedule around to accommodate a time-sensitive task the builders needed to get done.
  
  HIs report was thorough and detailed, with photos and arrows pointing to every specific thing he had pointed out to us during the inspection. We had a lot of questions about small details and he never voiced frustration bur rather, answered questions in a patient, thoughtful, gentle manner that was very helpful to us as we went through this process for the first time.
  
  Lastly, his previous experience as a builder was important to us, as we had purchased a new construction and he was able to give us a first-hand insight on the quality of materials used and how well the home was built. We happily recommend him.

  John was awesome! Our contractor says he has never seen such a thorough examination or inspection report! He was kind, deliberate and patient. We are very grateful to have been put in touch with John. I can’t recommend him more highly.

  John Barber is a meticulous inspector. It was such a pleasure seeing him work, jumping from one issue to another in sequence with a precision that amazed us. He caught some barely noticeable items on a home inspection that unwary eyes would not have found. Above all, he was very keen with his suggestions and made very logical recommendations about what needed to be handled by a contractor versus simple home repairs that could be managed by the home owner. I would strongly recommend him for your own home inspection! - Very happy camper

  I recently hired John to conduct a home inspection at my house in East Weymouth. I chose John after doing some research on reliable home inspectors on the S. Shore.
  John was prompt for the scheduled appointment. He was prepared for the inspection and he invited my whole family to tag along with him so he could explain things to everyone. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He listened to every question we asked and gave us a thorough answer. I highly recommend John Barber if you are looking for a home inspector.

  We hired John Barber for our home inspection. As first time homebuyers, we didn't know a ton about the process, and wanted to make absolutely sure we were making a good decision. John was professional, friendly, and very easy to talk to. His inspection was very focused & detailed, and he was able to share a number of fixes/repair ideas with us that we really appreciated as first-time buyers that will likely be doing a lot of minor repairs/changes ourselves. He even gave us a manual for home repair! We truly appreciated John's kind demeanor and thorough process of inspecting our future home.
