  When I found a flyer about Boston Kung Fu posted on the bulletin board of a Chinese pharmacy I was filled with both excitement and apprehension. Is this something I could do in my sixties, regardless of how much I might want to do it? Will the osteoarthritis in my left knee prevent me from doing it? I decided to give it a try and see.
  
  Since I had previous, albeit minor, exposure to Ving Tsun I thought I knew what to expect at Boston Kung Fu. Surprisingly, right from the beginning of the two and a half years that I have been training there I have been in awe of the simplicity and sophistication of the Ving Tsun system taught there.
  
  What about my left knee? Well, two and a half years ago it often hurt just from walking. Now, at sixty-four years of age, I do not take the elevator at work, I use the stairs when going to and from the third, fourth, and fifth floor. I am grateful for this unexpected benefit of Ving Tsun training, although that is not why I am training. The training is a life-long journey.
  
  In contrast to Ving Tsun, my prior experiences in other martial arts seem inconsequential, although not completely valueless. It is not about which is better or worse, it is about the better fit.

  Sifu David Clay runs a great school, with individual attention and a steady pace. He is truly knowledgeable about Wing Chun and is willing and able to answer any questions you might have. The class schedule/structure is such that you'll have the opportunity to train with a good number of different students, lower and higher in level, which is beneficial when doing the two-person drills. The kung fu itself is invigorating and educational, and I always leave class feeling better than I did before.

  I've been going here for just a little more than a week but I've already picked up a lot of details from the first form of the basics. Really enjoy the teaching style as it is well paced. Would recommend to anyone. 5/5

  I've been training for 5 months now, and it's very quickly become one of the best things in my life. Practice and patience reveal amazing things about yourself.
