Mooring balls outside the docking area off the swimming area. Great for sailing lunch stops and even nice overnight after the nearby boating traffic tapers off for the night with city & Island views.
The island provides not only a spectacular view on Boston, but also a unique history - from a dumping site to a recreation area. Check out their exhibit and - especially when you have kids - join their free guided walks to the beach.
Great place for a mini trip/stop during the summer. You have to take a ferry from the aquarium area to get here. Great mini trail and views of the city as well as park ranger tours (free). They have food, bathrooms as well as picnic areas. During a sunny day brings lots of sunscreen and bug repellent as most of the trail has is very limited with shade. It also has a great visitor center and staff. Loved the trip with my family, only downer is that the food is limited on the island so if you're not into the basic burger, hotdog come prepared. Also a great mini beach area where you can tan or swim equipped with lifeguards for safety.
Breath taking views of the bay and of the city. Peaceful getaway, and a really unexpected gem. Well kept hiking trails and places to pick nick or take in the views. Thin, rocky beaches, but the water was nice! Staff was super friendly and the facilities were also well kept.
