“Historic Emerson Inn's restaurant. Don't know if tavern is the correct title as there is only a small bar separate from the dining area. Dining room is a large single room with scattered tables and chairs that are meant to get you up after an hour (uncomfortable). Small menu featuring some nice preparations executed tastefully. We enjoyed, a cheese board with jam and honey placed directly on the board, would have preferred small vessels of these accompaniments. Salmon won tons, NY strip, and Scallops. Nothing visually spectacular but the flavors where on point. Very small wine list. Seasonal place April-October.”

“My wife and I go here frequently. We usually sit at the bar and eat and play Keno. This night we were struggling to find a place to get a seat. After several attempts at other restaurants, we figured we would try Mr Mike's. We looked in the bar area, but there was no seats. We decided to wait for a table. After only a few minutes they sat us. The place was packed and we had no Hope's of getting any kind of decent service. Boy were we surprised, our waiters name was Tom. A big older gentleman that couldn't be any nicer. Even though he was busier than a one armed paper hanger, he found the time to make all of his tables/customers feel like they were the only ones he had. It's not to often I will write such a good review, but it was such a great experience I just had to give him a shout out. We will be asking for Tom next time we get seated in the restaurant section.”

“On my first year on the JR. Rifle Team I got silver, my friend who has been shooting since he was in 6th grade, got bronze. He was not happy about that at all, and I must say after probably 4-5 years of him talking about how good of a shot he is, it feels nice to have proof that you are a whole metal element better. “This is a great sports bar. We will always remember this place as where we saw the US defeat the British to advance to the World Cup Finals. The wait staff went out of their way to turn the TV up in the dining room for us to listen to the match. The food portions was outstanding. I picked the BBQ mac and cheese. It was good but just not for me. My sister in law got the lobster roll. Honestly that was the best thing on the menu. That roll was one of the largest I have seen. They packed that thing so much she couldn't finish it. Seriously get it. This place was the first stop on my family's vacation and it was well worth the trip.”

“Solid choice for a night out. Good location with good parking. Very respectable list of live bands playing on a weekly basis. Bar is fully stocked and your basic selection of tap beer. This is not a microbrew or a craft beer haven. They have cold beer, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere. You can also stop by for a well prepared meal. All the pub faves and a few comfort items. Extremely well priced!! The staff was excellent. For anyone who regularly reads my reviews you would know a repeat issue with me is an empty drink. Seven of us were there for 3 hours including appetizers, entrees, and of course probably 30-40 drinks. Not once did we have to ask for a refill. Our server was on top of every glass. That scores big with me. And the owners were very present. They greeted guests and followed up with tables to ensure satisfaction. Again, that goes a long way with me. Tasty food, well priced, served with skill and effort. My one critique of this place would be the lack of an outdoor patio/ dining area. It would be the bow on top of a great establishment. We'll be returning.”

“I've been here several times but only on Tuesday nights for Jocko's Jazz. Jocko always has great entertainers! We saw the Henry Acker Trio last week (and I brought 4 friends there for their first visit to Sahara Club!) and we're looking forward to seeing Donna on April 30th! The food is good and yes, the decor is a bit dated, but the lights are so dim you can't hardly notice. But who cares. If you're there to see live music, your eyes should be on the stage.”

This happens for two reasons. 1, People are less likely to move into the area which makes for a higher female to male ratio (Women have less men to choose from). 2, house always wins, therefore you will look relatively richer compared to everyone else provided you don't play! “The Maynard Rod and Gun Club is an awesome place to enjoy the shooting sports, learn the shooting sports, and meet some fun people. The club has 2 skeet fields, 2 trap fields, outdoor rifle and pistol ranges, indoor rifle and pistol ranges, archery, trout fishing, a bar, pool tables, darts, game supers, great special functions, and a cool hall you can rent out too. I like to shoot with the skeet and trap group. We meet every Sunday for a few rounds of skeet followed by breakfast cooked and served right on the skeet field. Thursday nights there is Trap league. Halloween the zombie shoot is awesome. After it all you head into the bar for a beer and to watch the game. Best part of all the members are very inviting and willing to teach anyone how to safely handle all firearms. I have been a member for three years and love the place. Come down and check it out. If you shoot skeet come down to the skeet fields at 10AM on a Sunday and say hi. We are usually there till 1pm and we are in the process of putting in a 5 stand!”
