“AMG is a family-owned company with several years of experience. They quickly responded to us via Yelp after we requested a quote to paint a porch, posts, and railing, and they were actually able to stop by that same evening to look the job over. They gave us the quote by email the next day with the basic outline of work to be completed. We asked for a more detailed breakdown for sanding, wood replacement or repair, priming, brand of paint (typically they use Benjamin Moore, which was our preference, but said they could also use Sherwin Williams), and to verify 2 coats of paint (which they do). Lucas was very responsive and answered all of our questions via email very quickly – either the same day or the next day. Of the 5 quotes we received, we decided this was the best one based on: 1) reasonable price, 2) ability to start job quickly, 3) comparatively short estimated job length, 4) crew work and were not just a one-man shop, 5) family-owned, local business, and 6) already seemed responsive. So, we hired AMG to do an outdoor painting job for us in Nov 2021. They painted our upstairs and downstairs porch railings, our outside porch floor, refinished the outside of our front door and did some miscellaneous touch-ups. This job took two men about four days of work, although it ended up spanning over a 2-week period because there was a week of rain after the first day. We are VERY happy with their work. The two men who did the work were very nice and happy to talk to us when we came out, and one was fluent in English so there was no language barrier. Their work was quick and clean – and I am someone who notices details. Their lines were clean and straight, and they did a great job on matching to existing colors. At one point, there was a miscommunication between us, AMG, and their hired-out carpenter, but AMG responded right away and quickly resolved this issue. We highly recommend this company!”

We have newer wide plank pine which was pretty chewed up but now looks pristine; older wide plank pine which was similarly mauled, but now is smooth, gorgeous and full of character. We also have some original antique tongue and groove which was in good shape and Jeff suggested we shouldn't touch it. He and his crew were on time, knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and respectful of our home. They weren't the cheapest, estimate of our three, but they almost were and we would use them again any time.”

“If you have a license to carry a firearm which is good for five years, you receive a reminder to renew a few months before your birthday. Once you submit your renewal application you wait for a call to come in to get a new photograph and to sign a form. Then you wait again. But evidently the application is sent to the State Police Headquarters for them to make the final decision. If you are still waiting when the expiration date comes and still haven't received the new card, don't worry. There is still a ninety day grace period. Hang on to your expired license to carry firearm card! I had called to see if I should bring my weapon in to the police to hold for me rather than have an expired Firearm License. It took a while and for someone to know about the ninety day grace period! There should be a more efficient method that shouldn't take over three months to do.”
