(July 22, 2019, 9:49 pm)This place is so picturesque. Lovely breezes off the lake, lots of shopping and activities. It's a lovely place, she even brought up retiring here. It's a 90 minute drive, or a two hour train ride, so she can see her beloved Chicago symphony orchestra. Great place.

(April 7, 2015, 1:03 pm)It was nice waiting area with AC and heating by Silver Beach Pizza. They don't have Amtrak staff there. They shared restroom with Silver Beach Pizza.

Amtrak and the Michigan Department of Transportation are offering walk-up checked bike service aboard the Pere Marquette train at the Chicago, St. Joseph-Benton Harbor, Holland and Grand Rapids stations effective immediately. Reservations, however, are required, inasmuch as each train only has capacity for 16 bikes.
