Pamela Hackl DO

Dr. Hackl has been my primary care physician for over 20 years, definitely before one could consult Google for reviews on who to see. She is an excellent physician. I have read negative comments on Google and have experienced some of the concerns expressed. However, in the wisdom that comes with age over time, I say with confidence, you will not find a more compassionate, principled, and up to date in her research doctor in practice. She is a remarkable listener. She wants to know you and understand your concerns. She considers what research says, what she has experienced in her practice, your genetics, lifestyle, and carefully considers YOU for your best long-term outcome when making a recommendation. She treats any ailments or conditions always thinking about a patient as a whole person. She does not compromise in your care and will not extend herself beyond her skill set and knowledge. She doesn’t make guesses or assumptions. If whole body-lifestyle physical and emotional wellness are what you are looking for, you get that and more. She is not webMD. Self-diagnosis is not always supported. The patient is not the licensed physician with her background, education or experience. She will not always see you at your convenience but YOU WILL THRIVE. She follows her own advice. She is down to earth, a mother, a wife, and an excellent physician.

I love Dr. Hackl's office staff and she and Amy. I had a procedure done there and Dr Hackl herself called me on Sunday to let me know the results because she knew I would be worried about it. I see Amy and I really respect her and her care giving. She listens to me and answers all of my questions. Always willing to take her time. Highly recommend them!

I have worked with Dr Hackl for the past 3 years as a family practice resident out of Detroit. I can say without a doubt, she is one of the most caring and empathetic physicians I have EVER known and she truly goes above and beyond for her patients. She schedules at least 45 minutes to an hour with EACH PATIENT, which is simply unheard of in medicine. Most appointments are 10-15 minutes at other places. She will call patients on the weekends with test results, which many physicians would just leave until Monday morning. However, because she spends so much time with patients, one may have to wait 1-4 weeks for an appointment with Dr Hackl. Thankfully, she has excellent staff who follow her philosophy of attention to detail and empathy and Dr Hackl works with them to create a treatment plan. Same or next day appointments are always available but not always with Dr Hackl herself.
She does not easily write for narcotics or controlled substances but tries to find less-addicting alternatives when needed. If you have a complex medical issue, you NEED to see Dr Hackl. She is interested in functional medicine as well and in using acupuncture and supplements to help achieve good health. If you are not interested in becoming healthy, Dr. Hackl is NOT the physician for you.
