My mom loved it there. Always interesting sermons.
Birmingham Temple is a wonderful organization with equally wonderful facilities. It is a integral part of the secular (non-religious) community.
Their support for the caged immigrant children caught my eye♡
BT is where my child learns how to be a Mensch in the 21st century: practicing humanistic values, Jewish culture and traditions, as well as social justice related to current events. Our congregation prides itself in keeping fact from fiction. We've adapted our songs, rewritten the Haggadah, turned Sunday School into the Spinoza Program, and adjusted our Life Cycle Ceremonies to fit our liberal and progressive world views.
If you want to be connected to your Jewish roots, and believe that the
source of power, strength and wisdom to cope with life lies within humans and their community - You've just found YOUR PEOPLE.
Our kids enjoy Sunday school. Sunday school, and the entire Temple experience in general, is based on a solid understanding of Jewish history, culture, and thought, without a focus on the supernatural or unexplainable. Friendly people, intelligent and charismatic Rabbi, and many interesting and engaging events throughout the year.

2 reviews of Congregation for Humanistic Judaism of Metro Detroit "I went to the Birmingham Temple today for a memorial service. The place was quite lovely! Very clean, very professionally run and very comfortable for people on a not-so-pleasant day. They did a nice job of officiating the services and keeping everything organized (there was a very large turnout, at least 150 people present).
