  The have a takeout window which is nicely setup for minimal contact and easy viewing of pastries available. Nice coffee still available.

  Great coffee is served at Red Hook. I went here during the last few days of finals week to study. Here's some thoughts for people looking to study here.
  
  1) There is VERY minimal seating available. First come first serve. so you have to get lucky for the time that you arrive at the shop.
  2) The chairs are not comfy for long term studying. It was fine for a short time, but the backs of the chairs were not nice to use for a long time.

  I go to breakfast a lot, and I was very happy with Red Hook. Usually you spend 8 bucks on an omelette that has hashbrowns, toast, meat and etc.. You eat it all and then feel sluggish and heavy. But Red Hook had some great cheap and PERFECTLY portioned items for breakfast.
  
  I got a breakfast sandwich that was amazing, and I felt the perfect amount of full.

  Their pastries all looked absolutely delicious and they had some gluten free and/or vegan options as well. I tried their Hummingbird Cake with cream cheese frosting (which incidentally was gluten free).They had a small selection of sweets and one savory option. They also have very interesting lattes here, such as a charcoal latte and beetroot latte, and make their own syrups: cardamom, lavender and orange. I'll be returning for sure!
  
  Here is my review of their Hummingbird cake ??
  
  A banana based cake with pineapple, raisins and pecans. For a banana based cake it was quite fluffy and not at all greasy. The cream cheese frosting was very light and just cheesy and tarte enough without being overpowering or overwhelmingly sweet.
  
  My Earl grey tea went well; I suspect the bergamot complimented the fruityness of the cake.
  
  Apparently it was gluten free, but I didn't try it for that reason. It was so pretty, and the name was so cute. The gentleman behind the counter at this very cute cafe assured me it was delicious and not too sweet. He was correct!

  Love this small, very Ferndale-looking, coffee shop. Great pastries and macaroons.
