Very friendly church community!
This program is fantastic! The small class sizes allow for plenty of individualized attention, while also allowing the children the opportunity to socialize and learn in an environment of warmth and safety. The teacher to student ratio is by far the lowest in the area while the prices remain more then competitive. What I found most surprising is how incredibly flexible the scheduling has been. My daughter goes half day, my son goes full day and before and after care is offered too! My son is in his second year at Shepherd King Preschool and I just started my daughter at 2.5 years old because every time I would drop him off, she wanted to stay too! As a parent, it is such a relief to know I am leaving my children in the care of the wonderful and caring teachers at Shepherd King Preschool.
I have 2 grandchildren that have graduated from Shepherd King Preschool and 2 more that will be starting there in the fall. I feel my daughter is soo lucky to have found this school. The teacher is fantastic! Ms. Becky really cares about every one of her students. There is great "hands on" learning activities, great imagination is encouraged, social skills are taught as well as regular preschool activities. When my 2 have graduated they "crossed the bridge" with everything they needed to have a confident start to their school life. The price of the preschool is a bargain but that is just another perk to the great experience at Shepherd King preschool. I wish my girls would have been able to attend here when they went to preschool!!
We love Miss Becky and Shepherd King Lutheran Preschool. My daughter started there in 2009 right before she turned three. I was a bit concerned, because she had never been away from home by herself before. She walked right in and never even cried. She learned so much and loved it. Her social development grew by leaps and bounds. She was quite shy when she started but became quite vocal and began to interact with other children. She also started every morning saying hello to the church secretary; she and Joan still share a mutual affection for purple and sparkly clothes. We had to start every morning with hugs and hellos. The staff was also very helpful with my concerns about her peanut allergy. My daughter was very sad to leave Shepherd King Preschool to start kindergarten, but she has done so well in kindergarten after learning so much at preschool. When my son is preschool age, he will go to Shepherd King for preschool too.
