Adair Bar

Took a drive as recommended by my Aunt for lunch. We'd heard great things about their fish. Since it was on special, we ordered burgers 🍔 and spicy cheese bites. Cheese bites were fantastic! Burger came with fries. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger which was good, but a little overcooked for my liking. Overall it was super filling and a great time.

Highly recommend fried cauliflower as an appetizer because it's delicious and it's the only veggie available in the house other than coleslaw and stuff you might put on a burger. We both had pickerel aka walleye, but my husband usually gets and loves their perch. I LOVE how they have large AND small-sized portions. The small is enough to satisfy me and I have a good appetite. Hubby gets the large. They have great soups but I miss their desserts (pie!). They only fry fish on Friday and Saturday and be prepared to wait in line during Lent unless you get there before 5:30 but it is worth the wait AND the drive if you are not local.

Still can't get over Michigan prices but the fried fish at Adair Bar were delicious! Being English I can say this is some of the best deep fried fish stateside. Unfortunately I'm hardly ever in the area but if you live nearby or are passing through make sure to try some of the fish at Adair Bar.

We have been regulars at Adair for 20 years, but pandemic kept us away since 2020. On our 1st visit back, March 4, 2022, food and service was as amazing as ever. The jumbo fried shrimp and perch dinners were just as generous and cooked to perfection. No seafood restaurant we have visited offers this version of breaded perch or huge, breaded shrimp. Fries and onion rings crispy and delicious and cole slaw is the BEST! Wait staff was hustling as fast as they could to deliver beverages and food with minimum wait times. So grateful for something that did not change because of pandemic; love you, Adair!! We are Adair Bar survived Covid and still makes it worth our one hour drive for delicious food and great service!
