The caregivers treat the residents with the upmost respect. There is a sign in the living room that says “our residents do not live in our workplace, we work in their home!” and that is exactly how it is. The residents have their own personalized rooms and clothing, they can socialize with the other residents or even their family members. With COVID-19, the residents spirits are lifted through activities such as bowling, gardening, bingo, movie night, board games, singing and much more. To this day, there are no cases of COVID-19 for the residents or the staff. Island Pines takes the health and safety of the residents very seriously. The staff prepares fresh meals three times a day with plenty of snacks and beverages which makes the residents feel better. On the residents birthday, a little party is thrown with a cake of their choosing. Every holiday, the house is decorated and a big day of feasting takes place. Island Pines truly is a great place to have your loved ones live. I have worked at Island Pines for a year and I have seen countless efforts to make each resident feel comfortable and unique.
