Booked the room through Expedia shortly before arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted by Ruth, and we have to admit her exceptional communication skills and service as she offered us more spacious suite at no extra charge (apparently it had extra couch although our family wasn’t so big). The room was on a second floor facing the parking lot at the front, very clean, well furnished, very quiet, with very good clean bathroom and really good air conditioning (considering on that particular day outside it was 36 Celsius and only 18 in the room). No heavy smells anywhere, true non smoking hotel. Breakfast was included, but the one could call it too continental, with no eggs and sausages, it was kinda strange to me to watch big men having fruit loops to start the day))) Apple juice from machine contained probably too much water. But it didn’t affect the overall positive experience, thank you!

Sorry about the room picture quality. I had other people with me and we had already slept in the beds and put our stuff in the room before I remembered to take pictures.
Very friendly staff. I like that the room floor was not carpeted. Seemed cleaner without nasty stained carpet. Some things I found a little different. The breakfast area is a little small to accommodate the number of people that will try to occupy it in the morning. Food wise it could use some donuts or danishes. Also another waffle maker. People really lined up to use it so I gave up. If you are looking for the elevator, it is kind of hidden in the breakfast area and is recommended to only have 2 or 3 people in it. ? Odd.
I would recommend trying to get a room away from the elevator. The insulation at the door is non-existent. We were by the elevator on the second floor and you can hear the receptionist talking. The worse part was at 3AM we were awakened by some inconsiderate women laughing loudly and cutting up right outside our door and it sounded like they were standing in our room.
There is a train track behind the hotel. However, I only heard a train at around 5PM. The air conditioner worked, but the numbers were off. You had to turn it as low as it would go to get it to come on.
I liked the walk in shower - no tub to step over. The shower head was adjustable. The bath soap smelled great too. The oddest thing I saw and have never seen at any other hotel was the bathroom door has no lock! See my photo of the handle. So if you like a little guaranteed privacy, forget it.
The lobby has free ice water (some flavored).
All in all I believe this was one of the lower cost with higher ratings hotels in the area and I would probably stay here again.

Me and my significant other stayed here for my 21st birthday. Justin checked us in and was wonderful about everything. He made sure to inform us about pool/sauna times, breakfast, smoke area, ECT. Once we had gotten in our room and into bed to relax we had noted the bed was damp and one side did have a wet spot. I did go down to Justin and voice the concerns. He was sincerely sorry and did upgrade us. He definitely cares about guests experience and customer service! We would definitely come back.

The Leo is not only pet friendly but there is no additional pet charge which is a huge plus. We were traveling with our small dog. Being pet friendly and the location being close to some things we were doing in town is why we choose this hotel. We were greeted by Justin when we arrived at night. He was extremely friendly and made check in a breeze. Our room was right across from the pool which was very packed and it was pretty noisy. I asked Justin if he had any other rooms avaible, I was 5 month pregnant at the time and had a hard sleeping as it was. He upgraded us to a King room in a different location and it was much quitter! The room was big and had a large shower, it was clean and quiet. We got a good nights sleep. We grabbed breastfast and coffee in the morning in the lobby before check out which is always a huge plus to have that complimentary on site. Over all we had a great stay and will be staying here on our next trip up. Thank you Justin for moving us to a quiet room this really helped make our stay wonderful!

The Leo is fabulous. As you enter the spacious lobby you see beautiful, modern furniture. The fresh, clean smell throughout was very well received. My check in with Eric went flawlessly and he was so friendly and hospitable. Right before the elevator is the dining area. Again, beautiful furnishings and televisions. The elevator works well and took me to the third floor. As the elevator opened I was pleasantly surprised to see a sitting area that also can double as a bar. It was tastefully lit up. My room was a queen room and it was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. I could not hear anything in the hall or through the walls. The drive to Downtown was 15 minutes with super easy on and off the expressway. The location is safe and the parking lot is well lit and large. The Leo is now our go to hotel in Detroit.
