“Anytime I'm in Detroit, I make sure to stop by American Jewelry & Loan. They have a very nice store with ample free parking. I've found a ton of great deals anytime I've gone in. I typically get power tools and they're consistently more than 50% off retail and in great condition. I've never seen any "antics" go down in the store. Everyone (employees and customers) are incredibly respectful of each other which makes this an enjoyable place to visit. Every time I go in, I see Les or Seth. It's nice to know that they're normal people who really do operate the family business. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!”

In addition, his team/coworkers on that day at that time at this location were very polite and courteous. Truly, we had a good laugh that day the two female employees were so jovial with laughter one was in tears when I left the store as the store manager brought my purchased items to the vehicle. “I was referred to 2000 E. Ferry St. in Detroit for disposal of household hazardous waste when I needed a place to take toxic items from a house that my family was cleaning out. The workers at the site on Ferry were very helpful and polite. The team emptied my car which was full of insecticides, paint, paint remover, cleaning solvents and more. I would recommend this as the answer to disposing of harmful products. It is a place where items can be taken so that our environment can be protected. When I mention this service to my friends who are residents of Detroit they are surprised, but delighted to know that this service exists.”

“Pretty decent Family Dollar store, though cleanliness could be improved. Great prices, wide variety of merchandise available. I did find a bag of what looked to be cocaine sitting on the shelf by the Pepsi, so that was a bit concerning. Every time you walk in a message plays on the speakers reminding you the place is under surveillance, and they’ve modified the shopping carts by adding high poles to prevent people from leaving the store with the cart ???? Definitely a different kind of Family Dollar experience from others, but this is a high “shrinkage” (theft) store, so I’m not surprised.”
