Our Lady of Peace Catholic School

The value and the role this school has played in our community and in my life is unequivocally wonderful. We have had five children pass through these halls and every single one of them has an endearing fondness of the familiarity this school reciprocates with the community in which it inhabits. We had currently been attending a different elementary school in South Minneapolis and because of large class sizes and other differences we decided to give OLP a try. There is no greater internal peace given to a parent than the peace that accompanies your children being fully embraced and imbued by an educational foundation built on love and empowerment. OLP gives us exactly that. There is so much to say; from the incredible Early Learning Program and Preschool to the integration of Groves, which has helped my kids read so quickly and concisely. What a wonderful way to learn how to read! The way spanish, music, sports, science, and art are all woven throughout their daily schedules is way more than I could have ever wished for when deciding on a place to invoke creativity and courage in my kids. This place feels like home. Its inhabitants are your neighbors, friends, the folks who make South Minneapolis one of the greatest areas in the state to raise a family. Our Lady of Peace is an extension of the endearing environment we already get to engage with and I am proud to have put so much energy into its existence. To say I am thankful would be understating the way everyone, the staff, the parents, come together, everyday, to thread the needles of knowledge and kinship into a tapestry that tethers us all together, helps us transcend the traditional idea of teaching and take us to a place where we just trust that today will be better than the last.

Our Lady of Peace is south Minneapolis' hidden gem. We absolutely adore our school and it started with the incredible Early Learning Program when our daughter was 3 years old. The staff is awesome and she was loved the minute she walked in the door. We are blessed to be part of such a loving and caring community.

I attended a basketball tournament here recently and the experience was great. Nice clean facilities, concessions, nice big gym.
