  Working with Stephen is a very enjoyable process! As someone who is a beginner to a studio setting and was feeling nervous, he did a great job reducing any anxiety and guiding me through the process. Stephen is very detailed/ thorough in production, mixing, and recording vocals. He is also someone who provides useful feedback and suggestions during the process. Stephen is open minded to your ideas and is patient with executing those ideas. Both Stephen and Max are very kind, enjoyable people to work with. In addition to their great character, I feel my money is well spent due to the dedication and effort put forth with me in every session. A great place to create music you truly feel excited/ proud of!

  Absolutely fantastic team to work with! Stephen and Max are amazing!! I'm new to the whole music process (I had never released a song before or had recording experience), and they helped guide me and showed me the ropes!! I truly learned so much from them, and I look forward to continuing to work with them! They were always so helpful and patient and gave excellent music advice! And it was a great learning experience to see behind the scenes of music production. Philip was also fantastic to work with as well! His piano and writing skills were inspiring! He helped me through the songwriting process, and I got to ask him so many questions that he helped walk me through. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend Helvig Productions to new artists and those who are very experienced. This team will work with you no matter where you are in the process!

  Helvig Productions offers the best studio experience from preproduction to finished album. The space and atmosphere are perfect and working with Stephen is always so much fun. He was able to beautifully execute our vision for our album ‘Forward’ and we are so grateful for all his hard work and dedication on all of our projects! Can’t wait to head back in the studio with him again soon!

  Helvig Productions has been a GREAT find in the Twin Cities. Stephen is an audio-technical wizard who understands both the creative AND tech sides of recording, mixing and mastering. Always a professional. Always patient and diplomatic. He understands music and musicians because he is one. He understands tech because he is one. He is by far the best in the Twin Cities for pricing, equipment and facilities. A warm and comfortable studio is key for capturing a musician’s best performance and the Helvig studio is everything you’d want it to be. Relaxed, patient and easy-going as a recording engineer, Stephen carries those skills post-sessions into mixing/ mastering with a decade of knowledge and experience while staying on top of the latest plugins, tools and techniques.   Max was absolutely wonderful to work with! I am by no means a professional musician and was a little nervous but Max made me comfortable which made my songs better. I recorded covers of several songs to gift to my mom for Christmas and both he and Stephen were awesome. They made the process clear to me which helped me understand what to expect for how much time and money to budget for the results I wanted. My mom was completely blown away by her gift, my dad is not so subtly hinting at songs he would like me to record for him, and I definitely won Christmas!
