Emily was a fantastic doula! 😄🎉As a black woman, I had a TON of anxiety around the birthing process and being in hospitals because of articles I’d read about other black women’s negative experiences. This was also my first child. Emily understood my concerns and empathized with me. She quelled my fears by providing me with helpful resources and recommending pregnancy classes with Everyday Miracles. I appreciated the fact that she was vaccinated against Covid and wore a mask at all times. She was also gracious enough to accompany me to a few appointments when my husband wasn’t able to. Once it was time for me to give birth, I felt empowered and prepared! She arrived at the hospital on time and assisted my husband in helping me cope with the pain. She was always present and encouraging!😄🎉 I was adamant about NOT having an epidural at the hospital and delayed cord clamping and Emily ensured my requests were adhered to. She even caught my baby when she came into the world! Lol Emily and I had so much in common and I consider her a friend!🤗 My husband and I are so grateful we had Emily for a doula and have already agreed to hire her again, should we have a 2nd child. It’s been 2 months and we absolutely adore our beautiful, healthy daughter and we are so happy! Emily, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much, for everything!!💕😄”

“I recently had a nasal polyp removed at Mercy SDSC and it couldn't have went better. This is on the 2nd floor of the new building across Coon Rapids Blvd from Mercy (connected by skyway). When I arrived I had a family member with me. I was checked in quickly, and they had already done all the paperwork. They offered my companion coffee, and actually made sure THEY were comfortable too. That put my mind at ease knowing they weren't sitting out there worrying. TVs, newspaper, and beverages, it helped take her mind off my surgery. To top it off, there's monitors that show the current phase of each patient surgery (anonymized enough that unless you know the patient you couldn't identify them). Once back in the preparation area I had a nurse that was by my side from start to finish. Within no time the anesthesiologist and Dr. stopped in to check in. From arriving to on the operating table was less than 30 minutes! When I was brought in to the operating theater the nurses actually greeted me and introduced themselves. Again, another personal touch that that made me feel more at ease. I was kept warm and supported while I went under. When I woke up there was the same nurse (wish I could remember her name) with water and a smile. Meantime the Dr. had went out to brief my family that everything went well. They even filled my prescriptions right there, saving us a trip to Walgreens. They made sure we knew what to expect, and where to call if we had any questions. OVERALL: There are few moments in our lives where we feel most venerabile, and surgery is one of them. Even as a grown man I was nervous. To trust someone to perform surgery is to trust them with your life. I can say that I trust the skilled team at Mercy SDSC with mine, and would again. Thank you for your great work!”

“This place was a lifesaver for me and my husband. We had gotten into town later than expected from bringing a new trailer home. Turned out after multiple tries there was no way of getting in our driveway without bottoming out. We were in a real pickle! It was dark and raining and we didn't have any options. I did a Google search and this was the only one that said "closes soon" It was about 4:59pm and I think they close at 5pm. I called and reached one of the owners, Dana. She was so kind. She told me that they were not at the lot. I told her my predicament and asked if she had any advice. She said, "let me call you back." She got back to me within 5 minutes and said she had an opening at their Snohomish lot and would have someone there to help me! Unbelievable! I couldn't sign the contract right away because I wasn't at a computer but they just kept making allowances for us! We got to the lot and Lance showed up right then. Nicest guy! He helped us get turned around and into a spot, once again in the dark and rain. He could not have been nicer. Their helper Jessica was super nice and efficient and sent us all the paperwork via email. Everyone involved just went above and beyond to help us in our time of need. I strongly recommend this place and these people.”
