“In 2017, we engaged David in a building project, a beautiful 3 car garage. We were delighted that this project was an unqualified success. The building came in on-time, on-spec, and on-budget, which is both the “gold standard” for what you want in a contractor and a relatively scarce outcome! The real test of David’s business came on February 5 of 2018 when we were greeted by the horror of a smoke-filled kitchen. We called David and within 15 minutes he was standing in our kitchen assessing the damage. Within 30 minutes he had plumbers and electricians securing the house. David immediately began working with our insurance company, and the clean-up process began the very next day. Over the next 10 months our home was completely rebuilt with great sensitivity to its age and style, and it is now a beautiful and fully up-to-date home ready to serve for the next 100 years! This was truly an “attic to basement” project. He expertly handled all the often complex and difficult insurance processes that are involved in any project like this. He managed the gigantic task of juggling sub-contractors and inspectors and suppliers. He was on-site every day, often all day, to ensure that what was supposed to happen did indeed happen. But wait, there’s more! In July 2018 we suffered a major flood incident at our business, and so, in the midst of our house project, we called on Attics to Basements to do emergency flood remediation on two levels of a secured building. Once again, David grabbed hold of the project and made it happen, and the result is beautiful. So that’s three times that I have been a client of David’s in the course of about 20 months. A “normal” project, a “crisis” project, and a “business” project, and David has scored 3 out of three on-time, on-spec, and on-budget results. Three quality outcomes. Three great experiences. David’s current and future success is a result of his ‘character’. He is a person of high integrity, honest, decent, and a man of his word. He stands behind his work not because he is contractually obligated to do so, but because he has personally promised to do so, and his word counts. Attics to Basements was awarded the Elk River Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Small Business of the Year, deservedly so. We are forever grateful for the service, quality, timeliness, and personal attention David has shown us.”

Only small suggestion would be to standardize all startup and maintenance information so to lessen confusion. We had several entries in ours that references different products, none of which were in our package. Substitutions were provided however and they work fine. Just a bit of extra work and stress for a new tub owner. Definitely recommend MHT!”

“The High Bridge Park North is a cute little park at the foot of the High Bridge with a winding spiral around a stone sculpture. The atmosphere is creative and inspiring, and the large green chair within the park is fun for photos. My only critical feedback would be that there definitely needs to be a plaque or signage here! There is absolutely no information within the park on the history/meaning of the sculptures, or even the name of the park! 😂”

“I’ve lived in the area over 20 years and enjoyed buying my annuals, perennials, shrubs, grasses and herbs from Farmington Greenhouse every year. It is most impressive how they have served the local community over 65 years – with skill, dedication, and excellence. Michelle and Craig Franzmeier, owners for the past 8 years, continue the tradition of providing exceptional home-grown plant varieties that are ideal for our Zone 4 climate. Long before I’m ready to plant in my spring soil, they are taking plant root cuttings, planting seeds, starting plugs, getting all the seed beds, heaters, sun lamps, and tagging varieties in place. Winters months are busy with making product and seed selections for the coming year. A real natural genius at the green house is Lisa Tousignant, a floral designer. The color, height, and texture combinations that she comes up with are exceptional. As a formal floral designer myself years ago in Kentucky, winning in state floral arrangement competitions, I am confident when I recognize another good eye for design. Pond plants, succulents, cactus and – my favorite - sumptuous hanging baskets are plentiful. Their 26” ones are in solid wireframe baskets that I’ve refilled year after year. Also, I’m fond of the Deroma Terra Cotta Clay Pots that they carry. Most importantly, the plants that I buy from them are healthy; I know that I can count on a good root system under the soil so that the transition to my garden will be easy. Each variety is careful for until sold by an expert. They know just what type of soil, level of sunshine, and how much or little water each variety needs to flourish. And the staff is happy to share their knowledge and passion for gardening. Prices are very fair. Honestly, I am happy to pay them for thier hard work. Highly recommended. We are grateful that they are here, year after year, and want to say thank – you.”
