Very cool! The house is beautiful and the staff was fantastic. I learned so much about the property and history of the area. What an amazing place to take the kids.
Very informative visit. Loved the man who walked us through he was super sweet. Going back on the 9th for their festival.
They have a real working garden filled with heirloom plants. The garden is worked by local MU Extension Master Gardeners who are eager to answer gardening questions. The house was interesting and our tour guide gave us many historical tidbits. Quite a few hands-on activities so it's great place to visit for kids too. They also sell fantastic honey that comes from bees on the property. A great free Saturday afternoon activity.
This place was amazing to visit. The special exhibit right now is parlor games. They have board games set up from the 1800 and early 1900's that you can play. Also available for you to try out is a device that proves 3-D came much sooner than recently. It was truly amazing how 3-D the pictures looked through this contraption. They have what used to be the only cemetary in the area open to the public. They have beehives, a garden that donates to local pantries ran by volunteers, an orchard, a very neat museum, and a little gift shop. Very friendly people running it as well. And the best part is that it is free.
Enjoyed the period story reading and encampment. The period actors are very friendly. Great educational. Only partially wheelchair accessible in the house. If you cad do 1-2 steps you can see most of it. Very interesting architectural displays.
