My husband was diagnosed with ALS 4/13/22. After having palliative care, we switched to hospice soon after. We only had Ascend Hospice for 2 mos, but I would definitely recommend this for your hospice choice. The nurse we were assigned answered all questions and always followed up. Our bath aide was so caring and took great care with my husband. He could not move any limbs and she was so gentle with him. Our massage therapist was able to help with my husband’s hands & fingers he could not move, and help his legs with massage. Within a few weeks, Ascend helped with around the clock care when I needed it most. I wasn’t thinking my husband would pass so soon, but my hospice team was here for me the whole time. I was able to call 24/7 and I had help or answers to my concerns. When they say call anytime, they mean it. I sincerely feel they care and honor your wishes and listen.

I have seen both my parents to their passing and have appreciated the help and support of hospice care. Through these situations I've dealt with three different providers, and Ascend was truly the best. They stepped in and helped me with my dad when he returned to his nursing home after a six week stay in the hospital due to covid 19. Their care lifted him in every way and he ended up improving so miraculously that he went off hospice after six months. About nine months later as he declined, I needed hospice assistance again. Sadly, the nursing home would only let me use a certain company that their new owner allowed. I don't think this is technically legal, but it ended up being the last day of my dad's life and I did not want to spend time distracted from him. Before knowing this I had contacted Ascend for help, and they were ready. Then I had to go with a different company, whose name I can't even recall. Despite this, Ascend offered me encouragement by phone and even sent a very thoughtful condolence card after my dad passed. It has now been six months, and I keep a short stack of cards that were especially meaningful. As I reread the Ascend card today, I realized I want to share my experience for others who may be selecting support during a difficult time. Your loved one's needs as well as your own will be met in the best way if you choose Ascend.

What an incredible company to work for! I have the privilege of working alongside people with hearts of gold who truly care about each patient! When one of my own family members needed hospice I witnessed so many staff members who went above and beyond not knowing they were caring for a co-worker’s family! Our full time massage therapist and our music therapist brought him comfort for months so his final days were peaceful and our family was supported!💕

They have gone above and beyond for my residents. I’ve worked with many hospices but none have come close to providing what Ascend does for their patients. Very accommodating, caring and attentive.
