“First, a little background on my situation... I'm 37 and have suffered several long major depressive episodes for decades, as well as a diagnosis of MS about ten years ago. Depression, as you may well know, is often an impedance to caring for oneself properly, especially with normal daily tasks such as brushing and flossing. My own dental hygiene suffered for years because of it. Well, yesterday I incurred another dental emergency and sought out care hesitantly, as every encounter with a dentist in my medical history had been a guilt-riddled, depressing experience in itself. Dentists have always seemed rude and uncaring to me because, rather than make me feel better about myself, they had always added to my depression, which obviously made me never want to go until emergency services were necessary. Well, by some miracle, I found Dr. Drew and staff at Aspen Dental, and let me tell you, I have newfound faith in dentistry! They never once made me feel bad about my teeth and they helped me by giving me hope for my future by providing me with viable choices for better oral health. Looking forward to my next appointment, which is something I never thought I would say about a visit to the dentist!
